Alberto Reguera

Né en Espagne en 1961, vit et travail à Paris et Madrid.
Alberto Reguera utilise la peinture et depuis quelques années la photographie pour reconstruire ses paysages intérieurs, ses images mentales.
Paysages abstraits, aux reflets obtenus par l’emploi de pigments irisés,  elles annoncent en quelque sorte ces photographies quasi abstraites, elles aussi, prises au cours de voyages en Tasmanie et en Nouvelle Zélande, à partir de trains, d’hélicoptères,  Horizons, lignes de rencontre entre la mer et des rivages sauvages, nulle présence humaine dans cette géométrie bleutée que surmontent des nuages tantôt cotonneux, tantôt masse grise compacte.ouleur débordant sur les facettes du chassis.

Alberto Reguera uses painting and recently also photography to reconstruct his mental images and landscapes.

The paintings fill the entire space of the canvas and colour sometimes spill over onto the frame. The abstract landscapes with reflections obtained by using iridescent pigments,  in a certain way announce the photographic images – which can also almost be qualified as abstractions. Images taken in Tasmania and New Zealand, while on board of trains, helicopters… : Horizons, lines where the sea hits wild shores. There is no trace of human presence in these bluish geometries often topped by somtimes fleecy, sometimes compact and dark clouds.Painting and photography are often held to be incompatible. Alberto Reguera’s works brilliantly  demonstrate how complementary they can be.
